
This year Blue Planet is in process of hiring some young interns who wish to pursue the profession. I don`t have to cope with that because this is recreational diving and it is more dangerous to walk on the street 🙂 How did you feel when he decided to start a career as Dive Master? Most of parents don’t like when their children decide to work some quite dangerous job. I have never had customer who left our diving center without smile on his face. I cannot say this is problem because at the end there understand that everything I recommend is just for their own safety. Most difficult part of my job is reading the list of divers 🙂 To be honest, some divers with Open Water Diver certificate with just over 10 dives in their logbook think they can do any kind of dive and sometimes I have to convince them some dive locations are too difficult for them. What do you find most difficult part of your job? I have to be very careful and safety conscious while making groups but at the same time I have to respect wishes of our customers to ensure they will enjoy diving with us. For each group I decide who will be their instructor and what kind of dive location is most suitable for them. My daily duties are checking certification cards and logbooks of all divers before each dive and according their experience I make groups of maximum five divers. My main duties are controlling safety and quality. Is there something similar between painting and diving?Ĭan you explain your position here at Blue Planet? What are you main duties? I did not turn anything, I was stupid and non – focused and now I work as quality manager because I can`t sell enough paintings. How did you turn your career into being a Dive Master and now Quality and Safety Manager? You have graduated at Faculty of Fine Arts in Milano. Diving with scuba gear was a wish of my childhood. I work in Blue Planet since the very beginning. How long do you work for Blue Planet? How did you start working as a Dive Master? Maro is unique kind of person, Big Daddy to all of us in Blue Planet and someone who spreads good energy and enthusiasm even on very cloudy days. All of you who had opportunity to dive with Maro or had any kind of conversation with him know what I am taking about. It would be very difficult to describe Maro in one sentence. Lokrum island is a unique dive site with its semi submerged tunnel opening into a lake while our house reef, Little Africa, is one of the most beautiful in Europe.
